Daniels Sharpsmart Canada LTD. is a privately owned company who provide a complete direct sharps service to the Canadian market, with services including the provision of the Daniels Sharpsmart System (Collectors, Accessories and washers), transportation of medical and sharps waste, and treatment disposal of medical waste. Daniels is committed to developing the safest, environmentally friendly products and services available in order to make healthcare safer for workers and patients around the world, and to reduce risk for healthcare organizations.





The Driver is responsible for safe and efficient delivery of Daniels products and services in accordance with assigned daily routes. The Driver will be responsible for the safe operation of Daniels vehicles and adhere to all compliance and safety standards for the Transportation of Dangerous Goods. The Driver will be responsible for providing a high level of customer service, and will act as a main point of contact to communicate concerns to the Transportation Supervisor as required. Shifts times may vary depending upon required route, but typically will start early in the morning around 5:00 AM.

  • Competently performs pre-trip and post-trips inspections with the intent of identifying and communicating minor and major defects to the Transportation Supervisor, and also completes daily driver log book
  • Loads and unloads truck by placing and securing items in such a manner that prevents damage to the products and truck;
  • Ensuring all materials are properly packaged, and orders are fully complete and in accordance with the packing slip prior to trip departure. Should exceptions arise, drivers are to communicate the issues directly to the Transportation Supervisor for guidance;
  • Delivers items in accordance with scheduled route and serves customers by understanding, resolving and/or forwarding complaints. Continuously provides an unwavering commitment to meeting customer demands and requirements on a daily basis;
  • Diligently completes Daniels' commercial vehicle cleaning and disinfecting protocol on a daily basis;
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the truck cab using cleaners provided by the company (i.e. wiping down dashboard, cleaning windows and mirrors, removing all garbage and debris from vehicle, refraining from smoking as it is strictly prohibited in all Daniels vehicles);
  • Accurately records information on packing slip and manifest, ensuring compliance with TDG Regulations;
  • Maintains safe operation by complying with organization operational policies, procedures and standards, as well as local driving rules and regulations;
  • Operates vehicle in a defensive manner, such as to prevent motor vehicle accidents;
  • Complies with all environmental & health and safety policies and procedures;
  • Inspects all waste at pick-up for packaging to ensure adherence to compliance regulations;
  • Completes all other duties required as requested by supervisor/management





Purpose and frequency of contact








  • Valid Class DZ driver's license;
  • A minimum of 12 months verifiable, related behind the wheel driving experience (within the last 36 months);
  • Clean CVOR and Driver’s Abstract (dated within last 30 days);
  • Ability to pass all pre-employment requirements, such as reference check, background check, pre-employment medical test and a driver's road test or equivalent;
  • Ability and knowledge to safely load and properly block, brace, and secure materials;
  • Ability to establish rapport and maintain relationships with all customers;
  • Ability to drive the vehicle safely in accordance with all traffic regulations;
  • Ability to complete compliance paperwork and all shipping documents/bill of ladings;
  • Ability to work flexible hours (such as holidays and weekends) in order to complete routes in accordance with schedules;
  • Ability to adhere to all internal policies, as well as all federal and provincial legislative requirements;
  • Ability to perform other duties as required by Management.
